Admissions

A. Registration Requirements

Applicants for new students are required to have a diploma in accordance with the field of study determined by each study program. Complete information can be found in each program’s leaflet or downloaded from the http://spmb.uns.ac.id website regarding the requirements for prospective S-2/S-3 postgraduate students at UNS.

 

B. New Student Registration

  1. Registration for new student candidates is carried out online by filling out the registration form provided on the http://spmb.uns.ac.id page, then clicking “Pendaftaran” (Registration).

  2. The registration fee for the master’s program entrance test is Rp 000,-. Specifically for the Master of Management, Master of Accounting, and Master of Economics and Development Studies programs, there is an additional fee of Rp 200,000,- for the Basic Knowledge Test.

  3. The registration fee for the doctoral program entrance test is Rp 600,000,-. Specifically for the Doctoral Program in Economics, there is an additional fee of Rp 200,000,- for the Specific Study Program Knowledge Test. Study programs that organize Matriculation for new students from different fields (with a weight of 8-12 SKS) will incur an additional fee of Rp 2,000,000.00 (S2) and Rp. 3,000,000 (S3) or as determined by the applicable regulations of each study program.

  4. Payment is made at all Bank Mandiri Branch Offices by writing the Name and Registration Number of the S-2 or S-3 Program on the Payment Slip, and an access code will be obtained on the Slip.

  5. Prospective students upload the required documents to the http://spmb.uns.ac.id page by first logging in using their Registration Number and Access Code.

  6. The application form, as part of the registration requirements, must be submitted. Prospective students are required to complete the application file with the required attachments and send them to the Academic Division of UNS Postgraduate Program.

  7. After the committee verifies the data, prospective students can print their Participant Card online from the http://spmb.uns.ac.id page using their Registration Number and Access Code once the data has been verified by the committee.

  8. Prospective students who have met the requirements and followed the registration procedures are entitled to take the entrance test according to the scheduled time.

 

C. Test Materials, Basis for Acceptance Considerations, and Announcements

  1. The written test for new student candidates consists of:
    • Academic Potential Test (TPA);
    • English Language Test (TOEFL);
    • Specific material for certain study programs (Psychology Test for S3 Public Health).
    • Interview
      • Master’s Program for all Study Programs
      • Required for all Doctoral Programs
  2. The basis for admission consideration includes written test scores; interview test results (for S3); academic achievements in previous study programs; and completeness of administrative requirements.
  3. The test results announcement can be viewed on the http://spmb.uns.ac.id page.

 

D. Criteria for Passing the Written Test

  1. The passing criteria for the written test for prospective master’s program students are a TPA score of 400 and English (EAP) of 65 (TOEFL 475). Meanwhile, the passing criteria for the written test for prospective doctoral program students are a TPA score of 450 and English (EAP) of 70 (TOEFL 500).
  2. Prospective students who already have proof of TOEFL ITP and TPA-OTO BAPPENAS scores equivalent to the above requirements, obtained within the last two years, do not need to take the TPA or English written exams. They can do this by uploading a scanned certificate during online registration, provided they still follow the registration procedures outlined above.

 

E. Selection Place and Time

The entrance selection test is conducted by SPMB UNS according to the schedule available on the http://spmb.uns.ac.id website. Specifically for prospective students applying for the BPPDN scholarship, they must take the written test no later than January.

 

F.  New Student Admission Path

  1. Regular Selection Program: Candidates undertake a written test organized by SPMB.
  2. Developing Countries Partnership (KNB) Scholarship Program: Candidates who have been accepted through this program are not required to take the written test organized by SPMB UNS, but are still asked to follow the registration procedures at SPMB UNS.
  3. Outstanding Student Scholarship and LPDP Programs: These programs still require participation in the written exam organized by SPMB.
  4. Partnership Programs: Prospective students from partnership programs, such as those from the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, Ministry of Religious Affairs, and joint/double degree programs, are required to take the written test organized by SPMB UNS, while still being asked to follow the registration procedures at SPMB.

 

G. Matriculation Obligations

Students who will pursue a study program that is not in the same field for a master’s or doctoral program are required to participate in and pass matriculation courses with a minimum weight of 8 – 12 credits, as determined by the needs of the study program. This matriculation is carried out over one semester or equivalent to 16 (sixteen) meetings. The names and credit weights of matriculation courses are listed in the academic transcript, with the stipulation that the credit weight is not included in the total study load that students must complete (UNS Rector’s Regulation number 17/UN27/HK/2018).

 

H. Indonesian Language Provision for Overseas Students

Foreign students who do not yet have Indonesian language proficiency are required to attend an Indonesian language course for 4-8 months before commencing lectures, in accordance with the provisions of the scholarship provider and the intended study program.

 

I. Student Transfer Between Study Programs

  1. UNS Postgraduate Program does not accept student transfers between study programs within the UNS Postgraduate Program Environment or from other universities.
  2. New UNS PPs students are declared accepted if they follow the procedures according to the new student admission pathway as in F 1.2.3.
