  • To provide postgraduate education in the field of Linguistics (Master’s Degree – S2) with an international reputation that supports national development by promoting a healthy academic environment; and by utilizing cutting-edge technology and information; as well as considering the development of community culture.
  • To conduct research oriented towards the development of language studies (linguistics) and translation to address regional, national, and international issues.
  • To conduct community service for the application and dissemination of language studies (linguistics) and translation.

Objectives: Preparing You as a Pioneer of Impactful Linguistics

In general, the Master’s Program in Linguistics, which is part of the Field of Cultural Studies, aims to produce graduates who:

  • Are able to participate in the development of linguistics and translation in Indonesia.
  • Develop professional services, particularly in the field of linguistics and translation.
  • Enhance professional services through various forms of applied research in linguistics and translation.

 

More specifically, the Descriptive Linguistics Specialization aims to produce:

  • Graduates who possess up-to-date scientific insights into the development of linguistics and are able to apply them in studies.
  • Graduates who are able to conduct quality linguistic research.
  • Graduates who are competent as Linguistics lecturers at the undergraduate level in both public and private universities.

 

The Applied Linguistics in Translation Specialization aims to produce:

  • Graduates who are experts and skilled in translating various fields of science, technology, information, and arts.
  • Graduates who are able to conduct quality applied translation research.
  • Graduates who are competent as Translation lecturers at the undergraduate level, in both public and private universities, and as professional translators.
